Prices for exports of fresh Norwegian cod appear to have remained firm despite a marked increase in landings and export volumes during the fourth week of the year, according to the latest data from the Norwegian Seafood Council (NSC).
Average freight-on-board (FOB) prices for fresh Atlantic cod stayed flat at NOK 47.48 ($5.38) per kilogram in week four (Jan. 24-30), despite a doubling of export volumes from 532 metric tons the week before to 1,107t. It means prices are up 27% on the same week of 2021, even though exports are also 150t higher.
