Nonprofit aquaculture research organization WorldFish has signed an agreement with the Nigerian fish farmer Premium Aquaculture to transfer new "genetically improved farmed tilapia" (GIFT) to the country.
WorldFish hopes the agreement will kickstart a new GIFT-based aquaculture industry in Nigeria, and is targeting sales of GIFT tilapia on the Nigerian market by late 2023 [...]
