The land-based aquaculture industry is at a delicate stage in its development. The expected commissioning of major projects has been fraught with difficulty, and construction costs have spiralled because of surging costs in commodities and shipping industries. Investor interest in RAS-based technologies has dampened. Despite the odds, new projects appear almost on a weekly basis, and are in pursuit of key project finance to get to a first stage of production.
